San Antonio eye care

Eyelid problems and blepharitis in San Antonio, TX

Blepharitis is inflammation of the eyelid margins, causing red, crusty, itchy lids. It is common, chronic and very treatable.

What it can look like

What is eyelid & blepharitis?

Blepharitis affects the edges of the eyelids where the lashes grow. It can come from bacteria, tiny Demodex mites that live at the base of the lashes, or clogged oil glands. It often goes hand in hand with dry eye.

We also evaluate other eyelid problems, including styes, chalazia (oil gland bumps) and drooping lids that block your upper vision.
